None of the booking pages lists a stop ashore; the whole trip happens on the water. Book for the boat and the scenery, and count the drone as a bonus.
On the most-booked cruise the value sub-score sits below the overall rating: reviewers love the panorama catamaran, the crew and the wildlife, and some find the on-board experience “basic” for the price. You pay for the landscape, not the catering: on Rødne’s boat there is a kiosk, not a lunch service.

The boat was modern and very comfortable, with large windows to fully enjoy the views, plus plenty of space out on deck. We were lucky enough to spot eagles, a few red foxes, and even some seals during the journey!
If you're only doing one excursion then do this one. … The catamaran was spotless and viewing decks were available when you're ready to brave the cold. Worth every penny!!!

From mid-October to the end of January, orcas and humpback whales follow the herring migration into the fjords around Skjervøy, and operators like Brim Explorer switch their fjord-cruise catamarans to whale safaris for that window. If you are travelling in the deep winter and want a day on the water, the whale season is the better plan than fjord sightseeing.
